The Liar of Morpheus

To sleep perchance to dream.......
As I look around the library many people are dozing in comfy armchairs. Once they seep into this narcoleptic state gradually, over a period of several days, their bodies are leeched of colour. Pale and transparent their spectral presence lingers for a while before they disappear forever - or so I thought. Yesterday when browsing the shelves I found an ancient leather bound folio full of black and white pictures, faces seen in profile, faces of people who had once been regular visitors to the library. On the forehead of each of them was stamped the date "23 June 2666".

The chemisty of repose

I've been wondering about the worker formerly known as Hilary and his propensity to sleep at will. Could it be something to do with the prodigious quantity of methane gas expelled from his trousers? the aforementioned is a one person toxic timebomb. perhaps working in proximity to this gaseous gentleman is the cause of my terrible drowsiness.
